The shooting happened at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, July 28, Nassau County Police said.
The victim, now identified as 36-year-old Paul Larue, was brought to a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Larue was near the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Clinton Street when an unidentified person shot him, police said. He was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
